The Berlin Gay and Lesbian Memorial vandalized

Inaugurated in May 2008, the monument erected in memoruy of the Gay and Lesbian victims of nazism has been vandalized. With a high symbolic strength, the momunent was opened but the openly-gay Berlin mayor, Klaus Woverit. More than 50000 German gays and lesbians were perspecuted during the nazi period and 10000 of them were sent to concentration camps. A real shock in the capital non known for its tolerance towards its diverses communities.
