A holiday in honor of Harvey Milk

The gay rights activist who had become city supervisor of San Francisco but was assassinated in 1978 may be officially honored through the institution of a holiday. While Republicans do not support the initiative, the Bill passed the Senate where Democrats hold the majority. It now has to pass the House of Representatives and be validated by the Governor. It would be be first time a gay rights activist receives such honors.
